Cerner Charitable Foundation continued our strong tradition of giving back during the holiday season. During the months of November and December, our team organizes a series of give-back options for Cerner associates that benefited children and families across the US. Here are a few highlights from this year’s Holiday Giving initiative:
Thanksgiving Meal Baskets
Everyone should have a Thanksgiving feast to share with their loved ones! We kicked off the holiday season early by providing 239 families with meal baskets filled with Thanksgiving favorites via our charitable partners: Veterans Community Project and Jackson County Family Court Services in Missouri.
Adopt-a-Family
Our largest giving option made the season bright for whole families in need. Cerner associates signed up to adopt families and provided toys, winter gear and other necessities!
This year we were proud to support 91 families identified through our medical grant program and our charitable partners: CASA of Johnson and Wyandotte Counties, Great Circle, St. Sabina Parish, Independence School District, Kansas City Kansas School District, Kansas City Public School District, Raytown School District, Guadalupe Centers, Elizabeth Dole Foundation’s Hidden Heroes, and Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City.
Adopt-a-Child
Children never forget the feeling of opening gifts during the holiday season. This year, Cerner associates shopped the virtual wish lists of 126 children supported by the Delaware Valley Children’s Charity.
Amazon Toy Drive
What’s easier than giving back from the comfort of your own home? Cerner associates shopped our Amazon wish list to help children in need.
Our team distributed 646 toys to our charitable partners: Police Athletic League, Candy Coated Christmas, CASA of Johnson and Wyandotte Counties, Great Circle and Hickman Mills School District.
Our Holiday Giving initiative is one way that Cerner Charitable Foundation is working to build stronger communities. Thank you to all that helped us make the season bright!
