Operation Safe Volunteer Information

Sign Ups

Volunteer Sign Ups will open online prior to vaccination events and be promoted to Operation Safe Coalition member organizations. View current volunteer sign ups.

Volunteer Vaccinations

Vaccine allocations are determined by Clay County with guidance from the state on qualification criteria. Volunteers are not guaranteed a vaccine and should not have that expectation. Although not guaranteed, a limited number of vaccines may be available to those who volunteer in patient-facing, indoor roles. To continue the spirit of community service, we ask that volunteers who receive the vaccine through Operation Safe commit to 12 hours of volunteering at the vaccination events.

Volunteering with a Spouse or Friend

Only sign up for yourself. Spouses and friends must sign up under separate registrations. Only registered volunteers are permitted on site.

Volunteer Logistics

Day Pass Symptom Tracker

Feeling unwell or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms? Stay home. DO NOT volunteer for Operation Safe. Cerner asks that all associates and volunteers complete the Day Pass symptom tracker before entering a Cerner location. It should take under a minute to complete and can be done between 4 hours and 30 minutes prior to your volunteer shift. it’s just one more check to keep everyone safer.

Like other symptom checking forms you may have encountered, Day Pass will ask about any new symptoms you may be experiencing as well as your possible exposure to COVID-19. It is based on recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Once completed, you will receive a confirmation to access campus.

Cloth masks alone are not accepted. If needed, three-layer surgical masks will be available at volunteer registration.

Food is not allowed in the community vaccination event space. Breaks and relief will be accommodated for volunteers who sign up for consecutive shifts.

Volunteers are welcome to bring their own water bottles to the event. To ensure that all volunteers and participants are staying hydrated and masked, there will opportunity and space for drinking away from others.
